The history of Marble Arch

Marble arch - Carrara Marble

We are very proud to supply a large volume of marble tiles to customers in and around London. London is home to some beautiful properties, rich history and some of the best architecture in the world, including the magnificent Marble Arch.

Marble Arch is a 19th century white marble faced triumphal arch now based at the junction of Oxford Street, Park Lane and Edgware Road. The arch itself has a very rich history, having been designed in 1827 to be the state entrance to the cour d'honneur of Buckingham Palace.

The design was inspired by two other famous arches in Rome and Paris, the Arch of Constantine and the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel. It is faced with high quality Carrara marble with embellishments of marble extracted from Seravezza, Tuscany.

We are proud to supply Carrara marble and have travelled regularly to the birthplace of the Marble Arch. Browse our selection of beautiful marble here.
