Case Study: Minster Limestone For A Stable/ Barn Conversion

The kitchen is the heart of the home and where we tend to spend a lot of our time therefore it is important that you choose a stone that is right for your home and that you will love for years to come.

A recent customer of ours did just that, opting for our classic Minster Antiqued Limestone. We were lucky enough to go and photograph this project and as soon as we arrived it was evident why this particular limestone was chosen.

This beautiful farmhouse has been in this family since 1870 and was once the stables for the main manor house. It was important to our customer to create that traditional farmhouse aesthetic and so limestone seemed the best fit, with it also matching the rest of the building made from limestone. With the luxury of a large flooring area they opted for the 600 x random length format.

With multi tones of olives, greys and browns the Minster Antiqued Limestone was the perfect choice for our customer who has taken inspiration from her love of both British and Mediterranean farmhouses. The multi tones in this stone allow it to blend with a wide range of colour pallets and we love how it compliments this customers choice of dark blue cabinets perfectly. The stone is a seamless fit with the exposed brick feature wall, which is part of the original stable building, exactly what our customer wanted to achieve.

Minster is the perfect stone for the kitchen, it will survive high levels of wear and tear with the added bonus of requiring minimum cleaning and maintenance meaning it is ideal for busy households with muddy pets and children.

These tiles are split to their natural clefts and then lightly tumbled and brushed. This process gives the tiles a beautiful aged patina, making the floor feel as though the stone has been a part of the property since the day it was built which was the ultimate goal for our customer and we think they have achieved just that.
